Weekly Reflections from the Yoga Your Season Calendar

Summer • June • Week 4

Theme: Balance

Intention: I regulate my energy as I expand.

Mantra: I move with balance.

June 22 -28, 2026

Welcome to a new week.

Last week invited us into Expression.

To show ourselves more fully.
To trust our voice.
To allow what has been growing within us to become visible.

Perhaps you noticed moments where you felt more like yourself.

Before moving into this week, take a quiet moment to reflect.

What did last week's invitation awaken in you?

Reflection helps us notice what might otherwise be forgotten.

It reminds us that life is not only about moving forward.

It is also about pausing long enough to recognise how we are growing.

And from that awareness, we gently step into a new week.

Where We Are in the Calendar

We continue our journey through the Year of the Fire Horse.

A year that encourages courage, movement and authentic expression.

This week arrives just after the Summer Solstice — the moment when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky.

For a brief moment, it almost seems to stand still.

Then, slowly, the wheel begins to turn.

The days remain long.

The warmth is here.

Summer is still unfolding.

Yet nature quietly reminds us that every season carries its own rhythm.

Expansion is always followed by regulation.

Not because something is ending.

But because everything that grows also needs space to settle, strengthen and sustain itself.

Theme of the Week

Balance

Balance is often thought of as standing perfectly still.

But nature shows us something different.

Balance is alive.

It is constantly adjusting.

Listening.

Responding.

As we reach the height of summer, the invitation is not to stop expanding.

It is to regulate the energy that expansion has created.

To notice what restores us.

To stay connected to ourselves as life continues to unfold.

Balance is not the absence of movement.

It is movement in alignment.

Weekly Intention

I regulate my energy as I expand.

Expansion is beautiful.

But without awareness it can easily become overextension.

This week invites us to notice our energy.

What nourishes it?

What drains it?

Where do we naturally feel balanced?

And where might we gently make an adjustment?

Sometimes the smallest shifts create the greatest sense of ease.

Weekly Mantra

I move with balance.

Not by holding everything together.

Not by controlling every outcome.

But by listening.

Adjusting.

Trusting.

Returning to ourselves whenever we need to.

Gentle Practice

At the beginning of each day this week, pause for a moment.

Take one slow breath.

Then ask yourself:

What would help me move with balance today?

Allow your answer to guide one small choice.

Small adjustments, made consistently, often create the greatest transformation.

A Personal Reflection

This week I found myself thinking about something my father always used to say every Midsummer evening:

"Well... now we're heading towards darker times again."

He always said it with a smile.

As a child, I remember feeling a little sad when I heard those words.

Had summer already reached its peak?

I loved our Midsummer celebrations.

The day would begin early, picking wildflowers in the meadows.

Then came picnics and dancing around the Midsummer pole, long BBQ dinners with neighbours, laughter, games, endless play, disco, and conversations that stretched late into the bright Nordic night.

Sometimes we even stayed awake long enough to watch the sun rise again.

Looking back, I realise my father loved those days just as much as I did.

Perhaps that was exactly why he said it.

Not because he was sad.

But because he knew how precious those moments were.

Nothing lasts forever.

And perhaps that is what makes each season so beautiful.

We don't need to hold on to the peak.

We simply need to be fully present while we are there.

Thank you for sharing another week of this journey with me.

May this week remind you that life is not about holding on to the peak.

It is about learning to move with the rhythm of each season.

Until next week,

Anna
